Mary served as Friends Board President from 2021-2023 and has made many contributions to Friends since first elected to Friends Board as a Director at Large in 2015. Mary served two terms as Board Treasurer from 2018-2021, chaired the Nature Store Advisory Committee, and was a very active member of the Friends Finance and Fundraising Committees. Mary was instrumental in Protect our Rio Grande advocacy efforts which resulted in good mitigation for the SunZia transmission line project.
Mary has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Masters in Mathematics, and has worked as an industrial engineer and industrial engineering supervisor. She has also been a lecturer in the Math Department at New Mexico Tech. She loves the refuge and has contributed to the continuing success of the Friends, not only with her finance expertise but also through advocating for important issues that affect the refuge.
