Bosque Conservation Days
In past years, the Friends of Bosque del Apache joined forces with Save Our Bosque Task Force, Sevilleta and local schools for Bosque Conservation Day. Bosque Conservation Day taught Socorro County fifth-graders fun and useful skills in over a dozen learning stations – activities included Tracks and Scat, Wildlife Identification, Paleontology, Geology, Birds of Prey, and more. By collaborating in this event, Friends impacted many more students (200 vs the normal 48 at past Field Days). In the collaboration across organizations, all student bus fares and lunches were covered.
