Established in 1939 as a critical stopover for migrating waterfowl, Bosque del Apache is well known for thousands of sandhill cranes, geese and other waterfowl that winter here each year. The refuge faces many challenges today, but you can support the efforts to sustain and protect this oasis in the desert, now and for future generation, by supporting the refuge and the Friends group dedicated to preserving it.
