Janet Annelli, Ph.D.

Janet is now serving her second term as Board Secretary. She was elected to the board in 2023, and to her first term as Secretary in 2024. She is a member of the Board’s Executive Committee and the Events Committee. It was Janet’s idea that Friends start a High School animal art contest in 2024 to coincide with Festival of the Cranes timing, and she financed the prizes. 

Before retiring, Janet served as the Group Leader of Training Services at Los Alamos National Labs.
Previously, she was an education administrator in the New Mexico Public Education Department, supporting professional development activities for NM teachers. Janet is passionate about wildlife and Bosque del Apache, where she has enjoyed the opportunity to participate and volunteer in events, classes, and
meetings for many years.
